National Road Safety Strategy Tracker

The National Road Safety Strategy 2021-30 sets out Australia's road safety objectives for the current decade. The Strategy defines priorities for action and targets to reduce the annual fatalities by at least 50% and serious injuries by at least 30% by 2030. Our tracker monitors road data available to report on how Australia is progressing on the Strategy.

Monthly road deaths

Up to date national reporting of road deaths, crash details and demographics to help decision makers identify and act on emerging trends.

Injuries

Monitoring hospitalised injuries allows us to track progress towards the National Road Safety Strategy’s vision of at least a 30% reduction in serious injuries by 2030.

How Australia’s road fatalities compare internationally

We look at how Australia’s road deaths and road death rates compare with those of OECD nations, as well as accounting for differences in population, motorisation and distances travelled.
